Mr. Chavalit UTTASART was born in Bangkok on December 13, 1948. He
graduated in Bachelor Degree of Law with Second Class Honors from
Chulalongkorn University. He also obtained the Barrister-at-law degree
from both the Thai Institute of Legal Education and Gray’s Inn, London,
England.
He has been practicing law in Thailand since 1977. At present, he is the
managing partner of Chavalit Law group consisting of Siam City Law
Offices Limited (SCL), Chavalit and Associates Limited (C&A), and
Chavalit Finch & Partner Limited (CFP) which were founded by Mr.
Chavalit and his strong legal background and experience partners since
March 2005. All three firms combined are full service law firms, SCL’s
practices include corporate, labor, taxation, merger & acquisition,
litigation, immigration and real estate. C&A is specialized in the
laws of intellectual property, information technology and
telecommunication. CFP practices mainly in the field of real estate.
Being a recognized practitioner, he has expertise in the fields of law
including corporate, merger and acquisition, international trade,
intellectual property, information technology, litigation and
arbitration.
He is a part time lecturer at many well known universities of Thailand
on subjects including International Trade and Investment Law,
Intellectual Property Law and Information Technology Law such as:

- Ramkhamhaeng University
- The Institute of Legal Education Thai Bar Association
- Bangkok University
He is a member of:

- Member of Trade Mark Law Review Committee appointed by the Parliament
- Member of Law Sub-Committee of the Broad of Investment of Thailand
- International Trade Law and Relation Development Sub-Committee of the Judicial Council
- President of the AIPPI Thai Group; Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee of Inter-Pacific Bar Association;
- Member of the Electronic Transaction Committee;
- Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Developing The Law on Information Technology, etc.
- President of the APAA Thai Group
He wrote many legal and academic articles which published in both local and international journals and publications as follows:
- “English Judges”, published in Chulalongkorn Law Journal, 1975
- “Study Laws in England”, Published in Chulalongkorn University Law Journal, 1976
- “Consumer Protection and Hire Purchase Laws in England” and
“C.I.F. Contract”, published in Thai Bar Law Journal in 1977 and 1978
