Dr Edgar Chen is a partner with Tsar & Tsai Law Firm. Prior to
joining Tsar & Tsai, Edgar served as the Public Prosecutor, and then
a judge, of Taipei District Court, from 1986 to 1997. Besides, Edgar
had served as the Executive Secretary of the Civil Code Amendment
commission of the Ministry of Justice responsible for proposing and
drafting amendment to the Taiwan Civil Code.
Having served as a Public Prosecutor and a judge, Edgar brought to his
private practice his familiarity with the court procedures and
prosecution strategies. He has represented numerous internationally
renounced high tech companies on patent infringements and licensing
related disputes, real estate developers on disputes with consumers,
directors and officers of publicly trades companies on criminal
allegations, including insider trading, breach of trust and fiduciary
duties and investment disputes and various corporations on employee
disputes.
Edgar was an associate professor of Fu-Jen Catholic University from 1995
to 2000 teaching Civil Code, Fair Trade Law and securities regulations.
