Hee Chul Kang is one of Yulchon’s founding partners. His primary areas of expertise are corporate governance, M&A, finance, and employment law.

Mr Kang has long been recognised as one of the top lawyers in Korea. He has been selected as a leading lawyer by a number of publications across many fields of corporate law, including capital markets, corporate governance, and M&A.

Mr Kang has represented numerous multinational corporations in Korea, such as GE, Standard Chartered Bank and Yahoo, in various cross-border transactions. He has also represented major Korean companies, including Hyundai Motor Company and SK Telecom, in corporate governance and M&A cases.

Outside the firm, Mr Kang serves as the vice president of the IPBA Legal Practice Committee. He is an adviser to the Listed Company Association, a member of the Capital Market Investigation and Review Committee of the Financial Services Commission, and the Disclosure Committee of the Korea Exchange. He also serves as an arbitrator for the Korea Commercial Arbitration Board and as a mediator for the Seoul Central District Court.

Mr Kang received his LL.B. from Seoul National University (1979) and LL.M. from Harvard Law School (1990).
