Gerald Singham is a partner in Rodyk & Davidson LLP’s Corporate Practice Group.
Gerald’s principal areas of practice are commercial and corporate law
and he has seen a broad range of domestic and offshore transactions,
management style buy-outs, share and business acquisitions and
divestitures, corporate rescues and restructures.
Gerald has extensive experience in advising foreign business and
corporations aiming to invest in Singapore and works closely with the
Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
Gerald leads Rodyk’s India Practice and advises clients on Indian
investment law, and on the benefits of the Singapore-India Comprehensive
Economic Cooperation Agreement.
He is a member of the Casino Regulatory Authority, an appointment made
by the Minister for Home Affairs. He was awarded the Public Service
Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat) in 2006 and the Public Service Star
(Bintang Bakti Masyarakat) in 2009 by the President of Singapore in
acknowledgement of his community work.
Gerald holds the senior rank of Lieutenant Colonel in his National
Service military duties and has been appointed to the Military Court of
Appeal. For 2007, Gerald was awarded SAF NSman of the Year.
Gerald is a past president of the World Law Group, an international
alliance comprising 11,000 lawyers from 50 law firms in over 40
commercial cities globally.
