Adeline heads the Tax Practice Group of Wong & Partners and has more
than 20 years of legal experience in the corporate and commercial
practice with particular practice focus on tax, mergers &
acquisitions, information technology/communications and general
corporate and commercial matters. Her focus area is in tax planning and
tax advisory for local, regional and cross border corporate exercises
including joint ventures, establishing of new operations, mergers and
acquisitions, restructuring, downsizing and others. She has advised on
matters relating to tax disputes and controversies; transfer pricing;
re-invoicing; contract/ toll manufacturing; supply chain management;
structuring of tax efficient Intellectual Property management; royalty;
dividends; double tax treaties; service tax; withholding tax, tariff and
customs; tax incentives; as well as matters relating to foreign trade
and the WTO.
She is noted as one of the few tax specialists in Malaysia’s legal market and is lauded for her “
encyclopaedic knowledge of tax law and regulations”
by Chambers Asia 2011. She has also authored the “Tax Planning &
Compliance in Asia” for Malaysia, a publication by CCH Asia Pte Limited.
Adeline was admitted to practice in New South Wales, Australia Capital
Territory (1990), Sarawak, East Malaysia (1992) and West Malaysia
(1997).
