highly respected leader in the IP community and frequently represents
Malaysia and Industry IP Associations in international symposiums. His
articles on IP have been published throughout the world and his much

Apart from his day to day duties, Jern is presently actively involved in
IP policy review and implementation, including being a member of the
UNCITRAL Expert Group on Security Interests in Intellectual Property and
the IP Advisor to a State Government in Malaysia.
Internationally, Jern is actively involved in APAA, INTA, AIPPI, LES,
PTMG, MARQUES and the ASEAN IP Association. Jern is also a Foreign
Member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys. He has been
the Vice President of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Association
(MIPA) and was the founding President of the Intellectual Property
Alumni Association of Malaysia (IPAAM).
