Mohamed Ridza graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honors) degree. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (London), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also an arbitrator with Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Islamic Banking and Financial Services. Ridza set up his own firm, Messrs. Mohamed Ridza & Co. in 2005 specialising in Islamic banking and finance, corporate and commercial law, construction law and oil and gas.

Ridza is a trainer with Securities Industry Development Corporation (training arm of Securities Commission, Malaysia) and Financial Sector Talent Enrichment Programme (FSTEP)(training arm of Institut Bank-Bank Malaysia). He also sits in the Islamic Finance News Advisory Board and has co-authored a book titled “Law and Practice of Islamic Banking and Finance” and “Sukuk Islamic Capital Market Series” published by Sweet & Maxwell Asia. Ridza has also spoken extensively in seminars locally and internationally involving corporate matters and Islamic banking and finance. Ridza was named as one of the world’s leading Islamic finance lawyers as voted by his peers in the industry and sits as an independent director and member of audit committee in several companies in Malaysia.
