Ranjan Negi is a Partner at Amarchand Mangaldas in the Intellectual
Property Group and leads the trademark & copyright practice team. He
specializes in matters involving trademarks, trade dress, passing off,
copyright, designs, false advertising, confidential information and
internet and technology related intellectual property issues.
Mr Negi has extensive experience in representing clients from many
diverse industries and he regularly advises companies on issues relating
to brand adoption, prosecution and registration; handles adversarial
opposition and cancellation matters and litigation before the
Intellectual Property Offices and Courts; and advises on transactions
driven by exploitation of intellectual property, technology transfer and
licensing arrangements and other alliances. He also has the expertise
and experience of strategic counselling and handling trademark
portfolios for a number of well-known brands and represents Indian and
overseas transnational companies in managing their trademark portfolios
in over 110 jurisdictions.
Mr Negi also handles a variety of unconventional and emerging IP issues
such as online copyright infringement, ISP liability, keyword
advertising, privacy and data protection and devotes time in handling IP
policy related mandates aimed at creating awareness and education of
intellectual property laws.
