Ms Pallavi S. Shroff is a senior partner at Amarchand Mangaldas and
heads the Firm’s Competition Law Practice. Ms Shroff has nearly 30 years
experience in advising high-profile clients on contentious matters
relating to litigation, arbitration and competition law.
Ms Shroff has been actively associated with Competition Policy and Law
in India. She was a key member of the high-powered SVS Raghavan
Committee, besides being part of the Standing Committee of Parliament
reviewing the Competition Act 2000. She gave expert evidence before the
Committee when the Act was being reviewed, and also whilse considering
amendments to the Act.
She was also a key member of the Advisory Committee of regulations set
up by the Competition Commission of India (CCI); member of the Committee
set up by the Planning Commission to recommend national competition
policy and approach for the 11th plan; member of the advisory committee
set up by the Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board to frame
guidelines and regulations; and member, competition advocacy advisory
committee of CCI. She has handled several cases before the competition
commission on Abuse of Dominance and Cartels.
Under her leadership, the competition practice of the Firm was has won
various accolades, both nationally and internationally. She was also
recently awarded with the Leading Woman Consultant Award at Women
Leaders Conference 2010.
