Upendra specialises in Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity
investments and Banking & Finance. His practice is focused on Real
Estate and the Hospitality / Leisure sector. In this space, he
represents a variety of domestic and international Real Estate
companies.
He has assisted clients in the structuring of complex transactions in
relation to various commercial and residential projects, development
agreements and other commercial contracts.
Upendra has also represented multinational companies in cross-border
transactions, advising on foreign direct investments into India,
outbound investments from India, and the establishment of new business
operations, joint ventures, technology transfers, etc.
His vast experience includes Project Finance, Structured Finance, Debt
Transactions, Real Estate Financing, Security creation, Debt Capital
Markets encompassing issues of Rupee denominated bonds and debentures
and foreign currency convertible bonds. He has advised various national
and international lenders in relation to financing of various projects
in India.
He has also has represented various strategic and financial investors,
particularly Private Equity Funds and investee companies in a variety of
investments. His role in these transactions has included drafting,
vetting and negotiating complex structuring issue and rendering
strategic advice.
