Mr Mrinal Kumar is a principal associate at Amarchand Mangaldas and
works closely on matters pertaining to real estate (financing), foreign
direct investment in real estate and corporate commercial advisory.
He advises both domestic and international clients on the structuring of
foreign investments, funding of major projects, including integrated
townships, residential & commercial developments, hospitality
sector, industrial parks and special economic zones. He has also advised
on regulatory compliances pertaining to the real estate projects.
He has also advised the Government of India, Ministry of Housing &
Urban Poverty Alleviation in drafting the Model Real Estate Bill and the
Model Rent Act.
Mr Kumar has been involved in transactions on behalf of sellers, buyers,
investee companies and strategic and financial investors. Further, he
was also involved in the negotiation and finalisation of various joint
venture agreements, investment agreements, construction related
contracts, operation and management arrangements, development
agreements, loan facility agreements and other such transaction
documents.
He has extensively worked on the issues pertaining to local land laws in
various States in India. This involves structuring the transactions in
compliance with local laws; land acquisition laws and commercial leasing
laws.
