Fred Kan is the senior partner of Fred Kan & Co., an established commercial law firm in Hong Kong.  Kan is a Council Member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and is a Member of the Macau Law Reform Advisory Committee.  Kan is also the past Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Review Body on Bid Challenges under the World Trade Organization Agreement on Government Procurement.

Fred Kan & Co. is involved in the following practice areas: Corporate and commercial, finance, real estate, litigation/ADR, intellectual properties, employment, construction, and urban planning and environmental protection.

In additional to its headquarters in Hong Kong, Fred Kan & Co. maintains an office in Tianjin and a liaison office in Tokyo.  The firm’s working languages are: English, Chinese and Japanese.

Kan is on the panel of arbitrators at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Shanghai Arbitration Commission as well as the Shenzhen Arbitration Commission.  He has over 15 years’ experience as an arbitrator, arbitrating on domestic and international cases (particularly those pertaining to China).

Kan is an accredited mediator with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, CEDR and the Law Society of Hong Kong.  He was the Chairman of the Public Education and Publicity Sub-Group of the Mediation Working Group headed by the Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong.

Kan has been selected by AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers Survey as one of Asia’s leading business lawyers in each year commencing 2003.
