in private equity and mergers and acquisitions in China. He advises
leading international financial institutions and multinational
corporations on cross-border M&As and joint ventures in China. He
also acts for leading Chinese listed and private companies on their
overseas investments. Hubert has represented leading Chinese fund
managers including ICBC-Credit Suisse Asset Management Co. on their QDII
investment worldwide.
Hubert represents leading global financial institutions, PE funds and
hedge funds on the structuring and formation of RMB funds in China. He
advises foreign investors on their inbound investment and exits in
China. Hubert represents GE Capital, Harbinger Capital Partners, DBS
Private Equity and other leading global and regional PE funds and hedge
funds in China.
Hubert is a frequent speaker at international conferences and is
regularly quoted by Bloomberg, Businessweek, PEI Asia, China Daily and
other international and Chinese news media on China M&A, PE and
QDII/QFII/QFLP. He is a columnist for Institutional Investor China.
Hubert was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia in 1998
and has worked at leading international and Chinese law firms and a Big
Four accounting firm in Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai. He holds a
B.Com, LL.B. from The University of Queensland.
Hubert has been recognised as a leading lawyer in M&A, investment
funds, private equity and capital markets in China by global legal
publications including International Financial Law Review, Chambers,
Legal 500 and PLC Which Lawyer since 2006.
Hubert has been based in Shanghai since 2003. He speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
