The Firm and its Practice: International Law Affiliates (ILA) was established in 1998 by two partners from Delhi and Mumbai sharing purposive and modern yet conservative approaches (from a common international trade tutor at Oxford) prioritizing traditional practice values coupled with use of technology for efficiency. ILA has grown since then and in 2005 we moved into purpose-built premises in the central business district of New Delhi. The litigation practice of the firm now comes under the name
“Pasrich & Company” and covers representation across some 20 Indian cities/towns (see opposite page Pasrich & Company profile). ILA initially represented a few select multinationals and reputed Indian companies, since 1998 the firm’s lawyers have advised and represented several governments including Canada, Australia, the European Union, Singapore and the Republic of France. The firm has handled corporate and commercial advisory work for Fortune500 and other multi-national clients that include
E.A.D.S. India Pvt. Ltd., Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Kemppi Oy, Cigna Property & Casualty, ACE USA, Samsung, Dell Computers, Raisio (now Ciba Specialty Chemicals Oy), Sempra, CVTech, Ashok Leyland Ltd., Crompton Greaves Ltd. and many others both in advisory and negotiating roles involving foreign investment and infrastructure projects, joint ventures, capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, setting up WOS in India, competition law, property transactions, outsourcing and master service agreements, IT & ERP contracts, government procurement (including defense contracts), etc.

Real Estate (Property) practice lawyers have handled commercial leasing and due diligence in 45 towns/cities and we have expertise in builder development, collaboration and land consolidation agreements as also infrastructure contracts. Our

Madhukar Tomar and a new team of lawyers. This is one of the few firms in India with comprehensive experience in

Labour and Industrial Law practice having advised Indian corporate and multi-national clients, airlines, foreign governments, the delegation of the European Union and SMEs on appropriate labour policies, means of resolving labour disputes, union negotiations and representation in labour courts/tribunals, we recently handled a five-country project covering India and 4 neighbouring countries for the European Union.
International: Apart from our cross-border and government work, the firm’s lawyers regularly participate in international conferences of various associations and chambers of commerce including the International Bar Association (IBA), Inter-Pacific Bar Association, Union Internationale des Avocats and advocates of the firm have delivered papers at many conferences of these bodies. Amir Singh Pasrich, the Managing Partner is Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s International Sales Committee and earlier was Vice-Chair of the IBA’s Asia Pacific Forum. Avi (Avninder) Singh (one of two lawyers admitted in the US) teaches business law at the IUC, Turin in the summer and has litigated cases at the Hague and elsewhere before International and domestic tribunals.
