Majmudar & Co is led by the “youthful but experienced” managing partner Akil Hirani, who is praised by peers and clients alike. Valued at US$150 million and closed in August 2010, this transaction was completed during a choppy period for structured deals. By that I mean that the market is full of many great partners, but the people under them usually are not very good. Valued at US$12 million, the deal represented a substantial investment in the country’s renewable energy sector.
